Pleasant View is excited for World Culture Night on Friday, April 12th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.! World Culture Night will celebrate the diverse cultures found in countries throughout the world as well as in Pleasant View. It is a fun-filled event emphasizing understanding, acceptance, empathy and unity. To make this event a success, participation is needed to help showcase a country of which you are familiar. The displays are meant to help students learn about a country’s people and places and may include:
Size and location of the country Capital and Country Flag Typical day-to-day lifestyle Cultural traditions Common foods of the country Any interesting facts!
We would also like to showcase dances, games, foods to share, etc. from the different countries. Both parental and children participation is encouraged, and hopefully the whole family will want to participate in creating the displays, as well as dancing, games and food preparation. Children will be given a “Passport” as they come that night so that they can get a sticker “stamp” for each country they visit. At the end of the night, they can show their “stamped” passports and receive a prize. Please contact Riddhi Satturu at (563) 650-7077 or [email protected] or Ana Olsen at 563-650-6689 or [email protected] if you would like to be a part of this fun event!
